Details:

The LoanXchange system uses thin client Architecture; the client is Internet Explorer. The presentation layer moves information between MTS objects and Internet Explorer. IE is about as thin as clients get since it contains no LoanXchange specific code.

 

On receiving side, an end user’s request, the presentation layer calls a set of methods on an MTS object, formats an HTML string using the results, and sends the string down the pipe to IE.  IE renders the string into a human readable screen display or form. Client-side script running on IE controls the user’s interaction with the form. When the user submits the form, IE sends a string back to the presentation layer on the server.  This might trigger a database update after the presentation layer passes the information on to the business layer.

The whole project is built on Communication layer providing a GUI interface to an existing character set UNIX application.
